How long do antiviral medicine side effects start to kick in?

I’m on acyclovir or something medicine for shingles. The side effects are upset stomach/vomitting, and I really hope I don’t vomit. I’m on my 4th dosage, and I haven’t really had any side effects yet…does that mean that I am okay? When do side effects usually kick in?
